Hi, I am Patrick, and I'm passionate about teaching political science.Since 2018, I have been Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Edinburgh. I am also PIR's current Director of Undergraduate Teaching. I specialize in running large, introductory classes mainly for first- and second-year undergraduates, covering the fields of International Relations, IR theory, European Union politics, and comparative politics. You can check my YouTube channel to see some of my lectures.
My research is concerned with international and regional organizations, but I have also done work on the architecture of parliaments, global public health, internet governance, and international sports events.I received my MA in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Tübingen and my PhD in Political Science from Trinity College Dublin, where I was a Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholar. From 2013 to 2018, I was Lecturer in International Relations at the University of Göttingen. When I am not teaching, I like to hang out with my horse, cat, and chihuahuas, play video games, or spend too much time online.
